Accountant & Business Coach
Farmer’s daughter, Dawn struggled in employment; her entrepreneurial mind not conforming to the requirements of a routine job. Encouraged to leave school at 16, Dawn secured a job in banking, not realising at the time that banking would provide a good grounding in customer service.
Followed by a short stretch of employment with a firm of accountants, and a period of working as a peripatetic schools’ finance officer, Dawn’s passion for working with people, uncovering a natural empathy towards others, became apparent.
Whilst being good with numbers provided a good skill, it was Dawn’s unstoppable entrepreneurial vision and love of working with people that became the main motivator.
Whilst still employed, Dawn set up an accountancy practice with one client in 2000. By 2004, with 50 clients on board, against all the odds, Dawn took the leap from employment to self employment. This was purely a matter of following her heart; a single parent with two young sons, a large mortgage, and a cat; it was not a logical decision.
12 years later, still following her heart, Dawn’s accountancy practice employs 7 people and has a database of 400 clients. One of Dawn’s sons, James, now manages the accountancy practice.
Dawn now follows her passion for coaching, sharing her life experiences with others; helping business owners to achieve their visions, and working with individuals to overcome troublesome emotions and personally change so they can live the life they choose.
